Hong Yip Signs MOU with Three Major Social Service Organizations to Launch the "Hong Yip Care for SEN Generation Career Development Program"
2026-08-10

Hong Yip, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP), has long upheld the philosophy of "Building Homes with Heart" and remains dedicated to serving the community. In response to the Hong Kong SAR Government's support policies for young people with special educational needs (SEN) and to promote a diverse and inclusive community, Hong Yip has teamed up with Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service (BOKSS), Generation Hong Kong, and Hong Kong PHAB Association, to sign a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 10 August 2026, officially launching the "Hong Yip Care for SEN Generation Career Development Program" (Program).

The MOU signing ceremony, held at Sun Hung Kai Centre in Wan Chai, marked the launch of Hong Kong's first strategic cross-sector collaboration platform between the business and social welfare sectors dedicated to SEN youth career development. The Program received strong support from over ten local training centers and NGOs. By pooling resources from different sectors, we integrate training, workplace exposure and employment support, and aim to build a comprehensive "career ecosystem" for SEN youths.

The Programme focuses on three key areas:

1. Professional skills enhancement: Tailored training courses will be designed for SEN youth, focusing on property and facilities management, cleaning and security services. Hong Yip will provide advice on the design of training courses for property and facilities management as well as security services, while our associated company Nixon Cleaning Company Limited will provide guidance on cleaning-related courses.

2. Comprehensive practical training: Combining theory, job shadowing, internships and job placement, it allows participants to gain work experience, strengthening their adaptability, communication skills and confidence.

3. Collaboration and Synergy: BOKSS, Generation Hong Kong and Hong Kong PHAB Association will provide training, career development and employment support based on their expertise, while Hong Yip will leverage its industry strength in property management to provide course design and instruction, workplace exposure and job opportunities.

The Program not only creates a solid social platform through cross-sector collaboration, but also successfully brings together support from more than then supporting organizations, which act as bridges, recommending suitable SEN students to enroll courses, and providing ongoing peer support during interships and employment, thus building an extensive and closely connected social support network.

Looking ahead, Hong Yip will continue to uphold its commitment to sustainable development and work closely with partners across sectors. Through this innovative collaboration model, we hope to break down society's stereotypes on abilities, establish a platform for SEN youth to showcase their talents, and set a positive example for the industry — together we path the way to a more inclusive and diverse workforce for Hong Kong.
